CheckSkade: getting an insurance claim worded right before it is sent
01

The challenge

Filing an insurance claim is harder than it looks. A claim can be rejected, or paid out less than it should be, simply because it was worded in a way that does not match the policy terms. Many customers face this alone, while the insurer has the expertise and the legal understanding on its side.

Phone queues, unclear answers and uncertainty about whether a claim will be approved make the process slow and stressful, and a rejected claim is expensive to fix after the fact.

02

What we built

We built CheckSkade, a customer-facing platform where people start a review of their claim, choose whether it is a private or a business claim, and get an AI-assisted assessment of the wording before they send it to the insurer.

The service is available in Danish and English, with user accounts for registering and signing in, and information pages that explain common policy areas such as car, home, family and accident insurance.

03

The outcome

Customers can check their claim before it goes to the insurer, with a clear route for both private and business claims, which gives each claim the best chance of being approved the first time.

How it helps, area by area.

01 Who it is for

Anyone filing an insurance claim, privately or for a business.

The problem

Private customers and small businesses file claims rarely, so they are unfamiliar with how policy terms and wording affect the outcome.

CheckSkade is built for the policyholder. From the first screen a user chooses between a private and a business claim, so the review matches their situation.

  • Private individuals making a personal claim
  • Businesses making a commercial claim
  • Customers who want a second look before they send a claim
  • Danish and English interface
02 The problem

Rejections that could have been avoided.

The problem

A claim that is badly worded can be refused or reduced, and the customer is left to argue a case they could have made correctly from the start.

Insurers have the advantage of expertise and legal knowledge, while customers have to work it out on their own. CheckSkade narrows that gap by checking the claim before it is submitted.

  • Avoids rejections caused by wording rather than substance
  • Reduces the costly mistakes made in claim reports
  • Replaces uncertainty about approval with a clear assessment
  • Saves time compared with long phone queues and back-and-forth
03 How it works

Start a review, get an assessment, send it right.

The problem

Customers do not know what a well-formed claim looks like until it is too late.

A user starts a review, chooses a private or business claim, and the AI checks that the report is formulated correctly. A quote is generated for the review, and the customer then submits the claim to the insurer knowing it is worded properly.

  • Choose a private or business claim to begin
  • AI ensures correct wording and minimises errors in the report
  • Quote request flow for each type of claim
  • Quick assessment, so there is no waiting to find out where you stand
04 Rights & independence

Advice that points to the policy terms and the law.

The problem

Customers often cannot tell which insurance conditions or rules apply to their situation.

The service is positioned as independent of the insurance companies and refers to the relevant insurance conditions and legislation, so customers understand their rights as they prepare a claim.

  • References to relevant insurance conditions
  • References to relevant legislation
  • Positioned as independent of insurers
  • Plain-language explanations of policy areas
05 Accounts & information

An account, answers and clear information in one place.

The problem

Customers need somewhere to keep their review and to find answers without calling.

Users register and sign in to their own account, and the site includes information pages on car, home and family insurance and accident terms, an FAQ and a contact page.

  • Registration and secure sign-in
  • Information pages for car, home, family and accident insurance
  • FAQ and contact page
